Of course, I meant to say Ethan Canin, not Ethan Canain. Bad typo. Though I always think it's mildly fun to call him Ethan Canine...

I was particularly impressed by the POV juggling in the story "On the Show". Often, students ask me if it's possible to make a polyphonic 3rd person perspective work within the limited architecture of a short story. Well Tower's dexterity with POV in "On the Show" is evidence that it can be done, and done well. Anyone who enjoyed this collection might also want to check out "Music Through the Floor" by Erich Puchner and "The Palace Thief" by Ethan Canain - forerunners of "Everything Ravaged..." and, in my opinion, even more impressive.
