Benjamin Wood is an Associate Lecturer in Creative Writing at Birkbeck. In 2004, he was awarded a Commonwealth Scholarship to attend the prestigious MFA Creative Writing programme at the University of British Columbia, Canada. During his tenure as fiction editor of Canada’s second-oldest literary journal, PRISM international, the publication was awarded the Writers’ Trust of Canada/McClelland & Stewart Journey Prize. Benjamin’s writing has appeared in several international journals, including Event, Geist, Armada, and Red Ink, and he has been a finalist in the Crocus Commonword and Portico Books competitions. His novel, A Song Is Not Invisible, will be published by Hakurosya (Japan) in 2010. He is currently an emeritus editor of the transatlantic fiction journal, Joyland.ca, and finding a home for his second novel. |
