Poetry in the House


Poetry in the House’ will feature four established poets from three different continents - Kavita Jindal, Alfredo Cordal, N.S.Thompson and Heidi Williamson. They will be reading at Lauderdale House on Thursday 18 August 2011. The event commences at 8pm.

 

Alfredo Cordal, from Chile, will be reading from Tongues of Fire - his first collection of bilingual poems, in English and Spanish, published by Katabasis in 2011. India-born Kavita Jindal’s Raincheck Renewed was published to critical acclaim in 2004, whilst N. S. Thompson’s publications include Chaucer, Boccaccio and the Debate of Love and two full-length collections, The Home Front from 1997 and Letter to Auden in 2010.  Finally, Heidi Williamson’s Electric Shadow (Bloodaxe Books, 2011) is a Poetry Book Society Recommendation.
