As part of Birkbeck Arts Week, Writers’ Hub presents Future Writer, two events examining the impact of digitization on established and new writers
On Monday 23 May 6.00pm-7.30pm Novelist Richard T Kelly of Faber Finds, Becky Jones, e-commerce manager at Foyles, and Kevin Conroy-Scott of Tibor Jones literary agency will discuss what digital developments mean for established authors’ back catalogues and for out-of-print books. Subjects will include print on demand, the end of the ‘out-of-print’ label and the opportunities the digital world creates for writers used to printed books.

On Thursday 26 May 6.00pm-7.30pm The Literary Platform’s Sophie Rochester, The Bookseller’s Philip Jones, novelist and digital writer Kate Pullinger and Tea-Fuelled Art’s (and Birkbeck student) George Lewkowicz will discuss the impact of digital developments on new writers’ work. Subjects will include multimedia texts, new forms of writing and the commercial realities for writers making their debut in the digitized world.
